I think I want to see this. How about you?

seriously? i dont know. the first hellboy looked so fucking awful i still cant believe theyre making another one.
del toro is possibly the most overrated director alive. along with robert rodriguez and quintin tarrentino. pans labyrinth was good, maybe great. but everything else is so forgettable.

i think i heard hes doing the hobbit. i think he may be able to do this well. hopefully. i think as long as he stays away from the comic genre that he seems to love he'll do much better.

I agree on Tarantino and Rodriguez. Out of both directors, and all of their movies combined, I only liked Pulp Fiction... and it isn't anywhere near one of my favorites, still.

Del Toro, I liked Pan's Labyrinth, didn't think it was amazing though, but I did like it. As for the first Hellboy, I saw that. Well, some of it... that's another story, though. But from what I saw and remember, it wasn't really awful. It had its moments. But there was a lot of room for improvement.

I like the idea of using actual makeup and costumes again instead of CGI for everything. CGI is... lifeless. It takes a lot of work and care to make it really feel like something, whereas if you do something handmade, it instantaneously has an aura of love about it that's very hard to create with a computer.

i agree with you about cgi being retarded. well, you didnt say that but thats how i feel about it. so stupid looking unless everything is cgi.

but, the homemadeness of the make-up still doesnt warrant seeing this banal movie.

I have fond memories of the first one. I went to the theater with my girlfriend and didn't see any of it. Banal? Psh.

It's not for everyone. I don't like it enough to defend it from any detractors or anything. I'm not convinced I'll go to the theater to see it, considering my limited funds, but I think it looks better than the first one.

This is one of the few movies I was actually hoping got a sequel. Because the first one, I did not like the plot, but I loved the character, and was really curious to see what they might do with him in some different situation.

See what you guys went and made the spiders do? Now I'm getting ads for Tarantino ringtones at the bottom of the page. I'll wait for some other topic to defend them in detail, but suffice to say for the moment that I'm a fan of both Q and R.
