i'm back

Postby enjoi on Tue Sep 09, 2008 12:19 pm

was here earlier when it started, then just sort of fumbled around doing nothing, now i'm back, and, well, not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing but, well, whatever.

those who don't know, i'm also over at the velvet, and was at the cult years back. not much of a palahniuk fan these days, but the velvet trio, well, three of my favorites, also in to cormac mccarthy, gabriel garcia marquez, william gay, steve erickson, others, yeah.

i'm the fiction editor over at RedFez.net/RedFez. we're usually accepting pieces, so if you lot have something of interest, send it on over.

currently toying around with a interconnected collection of shorts, perhaps a novella as well, and maybe a poetry collection sometime down the line.

Enjoi,

Glad you're back. I've seen you posting Red Fez love over at the Velvet. I'll have to send something your way.

I'm more of a fan of Baer than Palahniuk these days, too, though like Stephen Graham Jones said, the man was a gateway to a lot of other authors who'd still be flipping burgers if it weren't for him. I enjoyed Rant though. I decided to skip Snuff since with Palahniuk's speed publishing you actually have the freedom to pick and choose these days. Marquez and McCarthy are a check (though I'm one of the minority voices who didn't dig Blood Meridian that much). MacAdam Cage just sent me a copy of William Gay's Twilight (along with Joey Goebel's Commonwealth) so I hope to dig into that soon.

The interconnected shorts idea sounds cool. You should post some of them here.

*EDIT: Whoops, looks like you already did.
