Dzanc Short Story Collection Contest

There aren't many of these, but if you've got a fat stack of short stories, go tear it up:

THE DZANC SHORT STORY COLLECTION CONTEST

The winner of the 2008 Short Story Collection Contest will be announced by January 31st to all that submitted via email, as well as on this site, and via PR Announcements to print and internet media. As our 2011 catalog has filled up (announcements to be made soon), we are holding a second Short Story Collection Contest for all authors wishing to submit a short story collection to Dzanc. The winning author will be published by Dzanc in late spring/early summer 2012, and receive a $1000 advance.

Entry to the Dzanc SSC Contest will require a $20 reading fee, and a full manuscript sent via email to ssc@dzancbooks.org. The entry fee can be made either via check made out to Dzanc Books, mailed to 1334 Woodbourne St., Westland, MI 48186 or via paypal by clicking on the button on this page.

We will be updating the website shortly, but our deadline is December 31, 2009.

Length of manuscript varies, but between 170 and 250 pages seems best.
[note: about 42000-62000 words)

The stories do not have to have been published individually to be considered.
